This beautiful olive wood box is typical for kitchens in the Provence. It is used to store sugar, salt, flower, spices, herbs… as olive wood provides an ideal protection against humidity. The small shovel is used to dose the ingredients.
The box is handmade from the slice of a massive olive tree trunk. As each piece of olive wood has a different graining and colour, each box will look different and hence be a unique object. This is what makes the charm of authentic olive wood products.
Once finished this product has been only coated with salad oil and not varnished. The result is a very elegant slightly matt box that is healthy to use as no bits of dried varnish will fall off and get mixed with the food.

- clean using a soft sponge, tepid water and soap. Dry with a kitchen cloth
- from time to time after cleaning coat with salad oil to prevent the wood from getting dry
- do not put this product in the dishwasher, leave it soaking in water or expose it for long to a source of heat
